Location: St. Louis Outpatient- 1430 Olive Street, Suite 300 St. Louis, MO 63103

  • Outpatient Center - Male and Female population

 

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday

  • Coaches may be required to work a maximum of 2 weekends per month (rotating days off during the week) and be able to respond to calls 24/7 when scheduled.

 

This position is part of the EPICC program, EPICC (Engaging Patients in Care Coordination) links individuals age 14+ with severe opioid use disorder (OUD) to community based treatment with the help of Peer Recovery Coaches. EPICC Coaches are individuals who have lived experience in substance use and recovery. They are able to make strong connections to referred clients through shared understanding, respect, and mutual empowerment. Coaches are trained and certified by the Missouri Department of Mental Health. 

 

Recovery focused initiatives serve those struggling with substance use disorders (SUD) by connecting individuals (through peer supports) to treatment and recovery options. Outreach staff also engage with clients to address social determinants of health (SDOH), provide education, and long-term solutions to sustain recovery and encourage prevention.

 

Recovery Coach responsibilities:

  • Follow monthly Recovery Coach schedule that will be provided by the Project Coordinator. Note:  coaches may be required to work a maximum of 2 weekends per month (rotating days off during the week) and be able to respond to calls 24/7 when scheduled.
  • Provide outreach to individuals who overdose on opioids and motivate them/provide linkage to treatment services (via the hospital ER during or after business hours/in the community during business hours).
  • Accurately document outreaches in Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) Database the following business day after the outreach is completed.
  • Follow-up with clients and treatment centers as needed to ensure the referral to services was completed and the client was connected/admitted to the agency.
  • Complete client follow-ups as needed to keep the client engaged or to re-engage as well as completing status updates at two weeks, 30 days, three months and six months post-outreach.
  • Meet face-to-face weekly with Clinical Care Coordinator to debrief from on-call shifts, discuss cases and engagement strategies, and ensure proper form completion.

 

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Previous lived experience with substance use. Former consumer of substance use treatment services is a plus. Must be in recovery for a minimum of two years.
  • Must possess Missouri Peer Specialist certification at time of hire or within 6 months of hire.
  • Must be willing to be on call (via shift work) to provide outreach contact within 60 minutes and travel throughout the Greater St. Louis region (including seven counties).
  • Must have good people-skills and easily build rapport with clients and co-workers.
  • Must possess good time management skills to ensure all responsibilities are completed and maintained.
  • Must adhere to the philosophy that medication assisted treatment is an appropriate form of treatment for people in recovery
  • Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance.
  • Must be able to pass background check or request an exception to the findings.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

 

Compensation (based on experience and credentials)

  • Range begins at $19.00 per hour
  • ***$1,500 SIGN-ON BONUS***
