The Regional Director is responsible for:

  • Directs evaluation, development, implementation and coordination of policies and procedures by subordinate director(s) to ensure program services quality and overall management control.  Advises State Director of new or revised policies or procedures requiring major system changes in order to streamline operations, enhance program results and ensure compliance with contractual terms, laws, rules, and regulatory requirements governing residential correctional institutions.
  • Serves as a leader and professional resource to assigned personnel to promote commitment to organization philosophy and mission and continuous professional growth and development. 
  • Assists managers in developing and meeting their professional goals and objectives.
  • Monitors compliance with established personnel policies and achievement of objectives for professional growth and development of staff. 
  • Assists managers in resolving complex employee relations problems, and approves recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Investigates problems and concerns, and initiates appropriate corrective actions.
  • Participates in developing and implementing program goals and objectives, policies and procedures.
  • Conducts meetings with staff to review goals, objectives, routine and special activities, and short- and long-term plans.
  • Participates in regional meetings with other directors to exchange ideas, evaluate operations, and develop policies.
  • Serves on internal and external committees.
  • Establishes and implements service delivery system for treatment program. Visits program sites and centers to obtain first-hand review of operations and results to ensure effective management control.
  • Promotes continuous improvement in methods of delivery of treatment and services, by revising and developing program standards, implementing appropriate corrective actions to resolve discrepancies, and ensuring adherence to contracts, regulations and license requirements.
  • Reviews client treatment plans with subordinate managers and supervisors to ensure compliance and quality and continuity of care. 
  • Audits client documentation to ensure record-keeping system complies with all governmental regulations and standards.
  • Develops program budget projections; monitors and approves expenditures; and initiates corrective actions to resolve variances.  Reviews financial reports, including contract utilization and income and expenses to ensure accuracy and budgetary and contractual compliance.
  • Generates, analyzes, oversees preparation of various documentation / reports.
  • Reviews and approves communication materials for use by managers and executives in planning and evaluating program activities, services, and results.
  • Reviews financial records and reports to ensure fiscal adherence, identify deficient areas for improvements and / or corrective actions. 
  • Monitors timely submission of reports and analyses to funding sources and corporate office.
  • Maintains and fosters positive GW public image and relations by attending local meetings and participating in community functions.  Serves as program liaison, and reinforces sound working relationships with funding agency representatives, local agencies and organizations.  Supports community outreach through attending meetings and speaking at events.
  • Hires, trains, develops, monitors, and evaluates performance of program operational, clinical, or support staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

•             CAP (or reciprocal to FL), MCAP (or reciprocal to FL), LMHC, or LCSW is prefered.

•              Bachelor’s degree in business, health administration, or related field

•             Seven (7) years of related experience including at least two (2) years of high-level managerial experience and / or five (5) years of experience in a correctional treatment setting

•             Valid local driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 50%

•             Strong knowledge of health administration regulations and standards, program funding and financing, laws and regulations

•             Working knowledge of management theories and techniques

•             Strong communication skills to lead and motivate assigned staff; develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with correctional personnel and funding agency representatives, and deliver complex reports and correspondence, and formal presentations.

•             Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to organize, plan and direct activities and operations, oversee and direct the work of others, investigate and resolve conflicts and deficiencies, resolve barriers to achievement of program services goals and objectives.

•             Strong organizational skills to organize, evaluate, plan operations of diverse programs and services dispersed across wide geographic region

 

Physical Requirements:

•             Ability to read, write, and understand and follow written instructions

•             Ability to use a keyboard and video display terminal to receive, retrieve, and/or audit information and data

•             Ability to record, proofread and check documents and files for accuracy

•             Ability to respond to telephones, and to hear and detect alarms and unusual noises

•             Ability to walk and move about the facilities for up to two hours at a time, to monitor and interact with clients
