Counseling Liaisons are responsible for:

  • Assists with and provides didactic group counseling, including educating clients on actions needed to successfully achieve treatment goals, to promote the development of effective life skills to support a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. 
  • Supervises and monitors therapeutic and recreational activities to ensure safety and well-being of clients; intervenes as necessary to control or channel inappropriate behaviors, makes rounds, tours grounds, takes census counts, etc.
  • Monitors client behavior and reports observations, missing clients, incidents or unusual occurrences; Assists team in maintaining consistent setting for treatment and coordinating client interaction events.
  • Contributes to decisions regarding treatment plans, conflict intervention, or privileges. 
  • Performs body searches of clients and client property in accordance with policy.
  • Documents and maintains records in accordance with the contractual requirements, which may include recording group hours, therapeutic treatments, activity or group participation, to ensure records are complete, accurate, and up to date.
  • Performs drug testing, collects urine samples from clients for laboratory screening and administers breathalyzer to client
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • A high school diploma along with 12 months experience working with clients in a residential substance use treatment center or correctional facility environment.
  • Valid local Driver’s License, good driving record and must be at least 21 years of age

Physical Requirements:

  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
