Role Summary
The Senior Finance Business Partner serves as a strategic advisor and business partner responsible for transforming financial, operational, clinical, workforce, and business data into actionable insights that support decision-making, improve performance, and advance organizational goals. This position combines traditional financial planning and analysis responsibilities with modern analytics, business intelligence, automation, and responsible artificial intelligence capabilities. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical curiosity, embraces emerging technologies, challenges assumptions, validates data and AI-generated outputs, and proactively identifies opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness, forecast accuracy, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision making.

What You Will Do
Strategic Business Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, directors, managers, and operational teams.
- Partner with leaders to evaluate financial performance, operational effectiveness, and strategic opportunities.
- Build credibility with leaders throughout the organization and influence decision-making through insightful analysis, sound business judgment, and thoughtful recommendations.
- Translate complex financial and operational information into actionable recommendations.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and scenario modeling efforts.
- Develop and enhance financial models for decision support.
- Conduct pricing, contract, and strategic financial analyses.
Analytics, Technology & Artificial Intelligence
- Leverage approved emerging technologies, automation solutions, generative AI tools, and analytics platforms to improve finance and business decision support.
- Identify, design, and implement opportunities to automate repetitive reporting, data preparation, reconciliation, variance analysis, and narrative generation processes.
- Use AI-assisted analysis responsibly by validating outputs, documenting assumptions, identifying limitations, and ensuring results are explainable and appropriate for business use.
- Develop practical prompts, workflows, and reusable templates that improve productivity, consistency, and analytical quality across finance processes.
- Partner with stakeholders across the organization to support effective use of analytics, automation, reporting technologies, and AI-enabled tools that improve decision-making and operational performance.
- Support optimization of finance, operational, clinical, and business intelligence reporting platforms, including ERP, Power BI, SQL-based reporting, and other approved analytics tools.
Data Analytics & Performance Measurement
- Develop KPIs, dashboards, scorecards, self-service reporting tools, and management reporting packages that connect financial results to operational drivers.
- Analyze financial, operational, workforce, clinical, and service-delivery data to identify trends, risks, anomalies, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Support predictive analytics, forecasting, scenario simulation, and enterprise analytics initiatives that improve planning accuracy and decision speed.
- Strengthen data quality by reconciling source data, documenting metric definitions, maintaining reporting logic, and promoting consistent use of trusted data sources.
- Translate analytical findings into clear business narratives, visualizations, and recommendations for finance and non-finance audiences.
Reporting & Executive Decision Support
- Prepare analyses, dashboards, executive summaries, and presentations for leadership.
- Develop decision-support materials that include options, assumptions, financial implications, operational considerations, risks, and recommended actions.
- Create concise, insight-oriented commentary that explains performance drivers, forecast changes, budget variances, and emerging trends.
Grants, Contracts & Strategic Initiatives
- Support grant budgets, contract analysis, and funding proposals.
- Participate in strategic projects and organizational initiatives.
Process Improvement & Organizational Development
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting, planning, analytical, and business processes through standardization, automation, and improved data flows.
- Lead or support cross-functional improvement initiatives from problem definition through implementation, adoption, and results monitoring.
- Promote innovation, data-driven decision making, and practical adoption of new tools by helping stakeholders understand benefits, risks, and changes to workflow.
- Stay current on finance transformation, analytics, automation, and AI trends, and recommend practical applications that align with organizational priorities.
What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or related field. Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis, finance business partnership, analytics, reporting, or decision support. Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills required. Demonstrated experience using data, reporting tools, automation, or AI-enabled solutions to improve analysis, reporting, forecasting, or business processes required.
Preferred Qualifications
Healthcare, behavioral healthcare, nonprofit, or human services experience. Experience with ERP systems, reporting platforms, AI-enabled tools, Power BI, Power Query, SQL, Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Tableau, Python, RPA, data visualization, predictive analytics, or similar technologies. Experience with data governance, metric definitions, data quality, dashboard development, workflow automation, or AI-assisted analysis preferred. MBA, CPA, CMA, data analytics certification, Power BI certification, or related credential preferred.

Reporting Relationships
Reports directly to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. Works collaboratively with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. Has no direct supervisory responsibility but may lead projects and initiatives.
