The Talent Acquisition Specialist is Responsible for:

  • Partnering with Hiring Managers to deliver all facets of the recruiting cycle.
  • Ensuring recruitment activities comply with Gateway policies, practices and objectives, as well as state and federal equal employment opportunity statutes and regulations. 
  • Working collaboratively with hiring managers to establish a rapport, understand various job qualifications, program needs and challenges. 
  • Developing and executes program specific talent acquisition plans utilizing traditional and non-traditional recruiting resources and strategies that meet the needs of the program. 
  • Researching and identifying cost-effective recruitment efforts, such as alternative sourcing and passive candidate sourcing to build a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need. 
  • Utilizing social and professional networking sites, the applicant tracking system, and modern sourcing techniques to generate a pool of qualified candidates 
  • Participating in job fairs, professional conferences and community events; and conducting various presentations to promote Gateway as an employer of choice. 
  • Developing and maintaining working relationships with schools and professional associations to assist with sourcing qualified candidates and increase brand awareness. 
  • Evaluating recruiting practices, developing recruitment strategies and solutions, identifying appropriate recruiting sources, creating job posting advertisements and making recommendations. 
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations, business practices and recruitment strategies at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources management, marketing or a closely related field. 
  • Ability to partner with managers to source, interview and select qualified candidates; develop program specific talent acquisition plans and implement creative recruiting strategies at a level generally acquired through two to five years progressively more responsible recruitment experience.  
  • Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to gather and exchange information, engage candidates, and to effectively deal with a variety of internal customers and potential recruiting sources. 
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills necessary to develop advertisements, appropriately utilize professional social networking sites, participate in job fairs and other networking events, and conduct presentations and promote Gateway as an employer of choice. 
  • Analytical skills necessary to evaluate recruitment practices, research appropriate recruiting sources, identify emerging needs and trends, develop recruitment strategies and conduct statistical analyzes to measure the effectiveness of the recruiting sources.
  • Experience of working in healthcare organizations and/or non-profit industry preferred


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to speak with others in order to exchange information and provide direction.
  • Ability to record and proofread information on forms.
  • Ability to respond to telephones and pages, and hear speech.
  • Ability to use a keyboard and video display terminal to receive, retrieve, and/or audit information and data on a regular basis.
  • Ability to ocassionally travel to various locations to conduct interviews, participate in job fairs and conduct presentations.
